A LITTLE R&R

This past Friday, we left town and headed out to the country. It's been hard to get out there just because of our one car situation. We got there about 12:30 on Friday and came home about the same time the next day. I would have stayed all weekend if I hadn't had to get back for that ridiculous thing called work :) Check out the pictures below!

This was Eli's first time fishing. He did pretty good. Of course his biggest problem was staying focused :) It's too hard for a little boy to stay in one position and keep his eyes on a float!!!
Hey look!!! I did it-my first fish-a brim!
This is Eli pulling in a catfish-he worked hard!
It was 4 pounds and 22 inches long...and that's no fish tale!
Ella Kate loves her Pa!
Ahh! A full belly-I could sit here and look at this yummy breakfast all day!
Ma and Eli went butterfly catching-they caught one!
She's steering all by herself-Ella likes riding the "tractor"-a.k.a. the John Deer lawnmower

As you can see we had a very good time. While there, Brian called and let us know that we'd be able to come out more often now cause...............(drumroll)........... WE HAVE A VAN!!!!! We got the call Friday that a van had been found at auction just for us!!! It is a 2004 light blue Honda Odyssey that is apparently in great condition (looks like it just came off the showroom floor according to the buyer), is under our budget (yippee!!!) and best of all (according to the kids) has a DVD player-which will be great for long trips!!! It got to Memphis Monday night and is getting inspected today to make sure it is what the auction people say it is. As long as it passes the inspection (and ours) we will be the proud new owners of a second car on Wednesday!!!! I am so excited and can hardly contain myself!!!
As far as Ella Kate's ears go...We have another appointment on Wednesday morning. She got three rocephin shots last week. As of Friday (the day of her last shot) her ears were still infected but not bulging so at least they were better. Tomorrow we'll see if they cleared on out. Part of me hopes that if we are going to have to get tubes again that her ears will still be infected so we can just go ahead and get it over with and not have to play the waiting game...but I really hope that she doesn't have to have them again period!! I'll update tomorrow on her appointment.
