Glow In The Dark Slime

One of the things that made our Monster Birthday Bash truly "monsterific" was glow in the dark slime. The kids loved this ooey gooey mess and they loved turning out the lights and seeing "it really works!!" even more. Here are all the supplies you need in order to make your own glow in the dark slime:

* Borax-find it at your local grocery store with the laundry detergent

* Elmer's glue (white or clear)

* Glow in the dark paint -can be found at your local craft store

* Water

* Food Coloring

* Popsicle Sticks

* Cups

* Ziplock bags

First, in one cup, mix 50/50 glue and water. Add a few drops of food coloring to this and mix well. We let the party goers pick out whatever color they wanted. Green was of course the popular slime color. You also need to add the glow in the dark paint to this mixture.

In a separate cup, add a Tbsp or two of the Borax to a cup of water. There's really no exact science. It doesn't take much though. Now for the fun part...

Take your cup of Borax water and SLOWLY add to the glue mixture cup. A little goes a LONG way. If you want your slime to be thin and well, slimy then add sparingly. If you want a thicker more formed slime, add more. I liked the thicker slime personally. Have your slime makers stir the mixture with a popsicle stick until they can pull it off and play with it.

Squish it, squash it, and feel the goo....

Oh and don't forget to turn out all the lights and watch it glow!

You can store it in ziplock bags when not playing with it and it will keep...forever...or until you get tired of seeing slime laying all over your house and it mysteriously finds it's way into the garbage :)
