Adventures with Jumbo

This past weekend, Eli got to bring home the class mascot, Jumbo the elephant. Jumbo is a webkinz elephant. Our task was to document our adventures with Jumbo over the weekend in a scrapbook and then Eli will take it back to school this week and get to tell his classmates all about his adventures. This is one of the ways the school starts getting the kids comfortable with public speaking. I think Eli had alot of fun including Jumbo in on all our weekend fun!

Friday afternoon he and Jumbo played outside for quite a while! It was a beautiful day!

On Saturday, we got up and headed out to the Pink Palace Craft's Fair. We go every year and enjoy the beautiful weather, the unique handmade crafts and yummy food! The kids especially like getting to pet all the animals and doing crafts at the kid's tent!

Jumbo got to ride on a llama!

There is always a man there who makes these rocking "horses." They are various animals like giraffes, rhinos, and...elephants! Eli and Jumbo took a ride on this cute elephant.

And we couldn't leave without letting Jumbo try his very first funnel cake!!

Saturday night, Eli asked me if I would take Jumbo to work and get a picture of him with a doctor...so here is Jumbo, in a cute little "fit to elephant face" mask getting a physical from a very willing St. Jude doctor :)

We are looking forward to picking up our printed pictures and completing Eli's page in the scrapbook tomorrow. Eli took Jumbo back to school today with the mask still on. He says Mrs. Jones was quite excited about the mask and said to leave it on him until he brought the scrapbook back and told them all the story. Eli couldn't quit laughing about Jumbo in his cute little mask!
